From our very first programme in 2008—a talent identification programme in Bihar, India—through to today’s vast array of programmes across the country, Dexterity Global has enabled a generation of young Indians to redefine education and reclaim leadership.
2008
Dexterity Global is founded by Sharad Vivek Sagar as a sixteen-year-old high school student in Bihar, India to power the next generation of leaders for India and the world. Learn more about Dexterity Global's Founder and CEO.
2008
The first ever Dexterity platform goes live in the month of October to identify and further develop hidden talents in the state of Bihar. Over 12,000 middle school and high school students from 20 educational institutions participate.
2009
The second edition of Dexterity goes live. Participation of schools crosses 50 and students 50,000+. Dexterity platforms start carrying an everyday tip on simple actions that can limit carbon footprint, save energy or water.
2010
Dexterity Global begins to establish service-oriented "Seva Organizations" across various Indian states. Seva Organizations receive capacity building mentorship along with technological and financial assistance.
2011
United Nations awards World Summit Youth Award to Dexterity Global for effective use of "ICT: Information, Communication and Technology" to build next generation servant leaders.
2012
Dexterity Global establishes DexSchool—India's first school of Leadership and Entrepreneurship for teenagers—to build servant leaders from a young age.
2013
Included among "100 Next Century Innovations" by The Rockefeller Foundation.
2014
Dexterity Global establishes Dexterity to College to enable young servant leaders to receive a world-class college education and dedicate themselves to Seva through professions.
2015
Dexterity School of Leadership and Entrepreneurship is Included in "100 Projects for Peace" globally by Kathryn W. Davis Foundation for building servant leaders.
2015
In a rare and historic moment, NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. got linked to DexSchool classrooms in Patna, India. Mamta Patel Nagaraja, a senior NASA Scientist and Project Head of Women@NASA took questions on space science, leadership, and building a career in STEM.

Recognised as part of Global 'Forbes 30 Under 30' List. Forbes notes that "the goal is to connect promising young students with opportunities and to equip them with the mentality to solve 21st-century problems with 21st-century solutions."

Recognised by the Obama White House with a special invitation to the SXSL Event. The Dexterity CEO becomes the only Indian invitee to the special White House event.

The Dexterity CEO receives an invitation from the Nobel Peace Center to the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony in Oslo, Norway.
2017
Recognised by The Queen of England for efforts to "transform people’s lives."
2017
In a historic move, Tufts University establishes a special scholarship fund for Dexterity to College fellows. The Dexterity Global Group joins the likes of organizations as Reliance and Tata that have special scholarship funds at global universities for Indian students — Reliance Dhirubhai Ambani Scholarship at Stanford University and Tata Scholarship at Cornell University.
2018
To mark 125 years of Swami Vivekananda's historic address at the World's Parliament of Religions in Chicago, a special Classroom on Science, Spirituality and Seva was organised at Harvard University on November 15, 2018. Dexterity Global's Founder and CEO Sharad Sagar and Swami Nikhileswarananda, a senior monk of the Ramakrishna Order—the order of monks founded by Swami Vivekananda—lectured students, scholars and faculty of Harvard University. The classroom took place in Sever Hall—the same hall where Swami Vivekananda delivered a lecture in 1894.

On the completion of ten years of the organization, Dexterity Global declares February 10 as the International Day of Dexterity to honor the rich legacy of an Indian hero who in his short life embodied the true "dexterity" spirit and serves as an inspiration for millions of Dexters around the world. Receives the prestigious Samuel Huntington Public Service Award for building a holistic Seva Curriculum for all young people in India.
2020
During the COVID crisis, on April 8, 2020, Dexterity Global sends 850,000 Corona Warrior Training Kits for children all across India, an educational kit that trained children and youth in science and service. The kit was first made available in English and Hindi and was further translated in regional languages.

In April 2020, the Dexterity CEO announced the 1000 Internships Programme to support and train youth who had lost their internships and jobs to the COVID crisis. From Wokha in Nagaland to Kannur in Kerala, 1000 youth from 310 districts and 27 (out of 28) states of India received an internship and training in career readiness. On May 5, in exactly two weeks from the date of announcement, the organization sent out the 1000th internship offer letter.
2020
On June 22, Dexterity Global announced the Data Scholarships programme under the organization's financial aid policy “Pay only if you can.” Under the programme, Dexterity’s Financial Aid plan also covers data scholarships for all low and middle-income children who were otherwise disadvantaged in the digital mode of education.

On October 12, Superstar Amitabh Bachchan introduces Dexterity Global and the Dexterity CEO on of India's most watched national television programmes Kaun Banega Crorepati. The Dexterity CEO becomes the youngest expert in the history of the quiz show.
